HoB - Credits and References
External Material
In our first draft we wanted to add some map modifications done by other modders, who were so generous to make those available. Unfortunately we've encountered lots of problems either by incompabilities among the map plugins or with patch 1.11. Since most available compatibility is one of our main concerns we've skipped that idea with quite some regret.
Still there's one map plugin left concerning th Cloister, credit and peanuts to LaLouste.
Also we want to credit onyx, who administrates the Diabolic Carthography which provides an enormous amount of map plugins.
Another site worth to mention as a useful resource is Inventharia, also hosted by onyx, which - you may have guessed - provides inventory graphics.
We've used some of riparious' inventory graphics, Kyrene's amulet graphics, and also some Neverwinter Nights graphics converted by Joel. Copyright of the latter is at BioWare Corporation.
Red Havoc contributed some missile and overlay graphics.
Nefarius gets credit for his fixed 1.11b text files which prevented us from so much trouble.
We've browsed also Infinitum, which provides Baldur's Gate graphics, and Incandescene, where onyx provides Diablo (I) and Hellfire material.
In Hoard of Bugtraction we decided against usage of that stuff, but nevertheless we were happy to have the choice.
Tools of the Trade
We've started modding at our Macs. Well, there's just one application, and this is available only for patch 1.10 and gives trouble when used in 1.11. So we took an elderly x86 Windows computer and stuffed it with all that little helper tools available for Windows for better and more stable results.
We've used following tools to develop Hoard of Bugtraction:
Packers
- MPQtool by souricette (MacOS)
- MPQedit was our choice for Windows
- mpq datafile is needed to extract text files from mpqs
- tugzip as packing tool for downloads
- filzip as alternative to tugzip
- Stuffit as packing tool for MacOS
